This handsome and well proportioned early nineteenth Century fireplace marks a distinctive juncture between late Georgian Design and early Regency styles.
This design is particular to the short reign of William IV, the last of the monarchs of the House of Hanover. The carved laurel wreaths bound a gently stepped frieze, which are supported by deft and very fine moulded support blocks.
